Single women

Fertility treatments for single women can be carried out in the natural cycle and with donated sperm.

A single woman is a woman who consciously wants to become a parent and have a child alone with the help of fertility treatments and donated gametes. When a single woman starts thinking about having a child, it is a good idea to begin by booking a first appointment at Felicitas Mehiläinen.

Fertility treatments for single women

Pregnancy in a single woman is commonly started with insemination. The treatment can be carried out in the natural cycle if the time of ovulation can be found easily.

The likelihood of successful insemination treatment is about 20%. If the pregnancy does not begin after 3–4 insemination attempts, in vitro fertilisation, a more effective treatment than insemination, can be considered as an alternative.

Fertility treatments for single women are always individually tailored at Felicitas Mehiläinen. For single women, just like any other customer, the form of fertility treatment that is most likely to bring the best outcomes is always chosen.

Donated sperm are used in the fertility treatment of single women. The use of donated gametes requires careful planning and preparations. There will also be a discussion with a psychotherapist before the treatment is started.
