Fertility treatments for people with HIV and hepatitis

An infection is not an obstacle to fertility treatments. The infection must be controlled and treated appropriately.

At Felicitas Mehiläinen, we treat all people with HIV and hepatitis who need fertility treatments and meet the treatment requirements. This means that the HIV or hepatitis infection of the person seeking fertility treatment or their spouse is controlled with medication. The aim is also to reduce the viral load of carriers of hepatitis B and C before fertility treatments. Before treatment, it is ensured that there are no health-related obstacles to pregnancy and childbirth. If necessary, Felicitas Mehiläinen’s infertility specialist will issue a referral for a consultation with an infectious disease or internal medicine specialist.

Fertility treatments for HIV and hepatitis-positive customers are carried out at the Felicitas Mehiläinen Helsinki fertility clinic without a referral or with a promissory note. If necessary and where possible, any ultrasound examinations related to the treatment can also be performed at other Felicitas Mehiläinen clinics.
