Niemelä Katriina
I am an obstetrician-gynaecologist and have a special qualification in reproductive medicine. I was trained at Oulu University Hospital’s women’s clinic. I also received my doctorate in medicine there in 2006. My thesis was on polycystic ovary syndrome.
I have worked as a gynaecologist for almost 20 years, and I have also worked as a fertility doctor for the Family Federation of Finland since 2008 and for Felicitas Mehiläinen’s Oulu clinic since 2017. In addition, I also offer gynaecology appointments at Mehiläinen in Oulu city centre. At Felicitas, I mainly treat customers who wish to get pregnant or want to learn more about their fertility. At the Mehiläinen clinic in the Oulu city centre, I welcome women of all ages from young girls to elderly women. Customers are welcome to come see me with all kinds of gynaecological problems, such as contraception, menopausal symptoms or menstrual disorders. I perform gynaecological and early pregnancy ultrasound examinations.
I like my work. Respecting the patient, listening to them and providing individual treatment are the underlying principles of my work. I treat patients the way I would like to be treated.
