Liisa Häkkinen

I graduated as an obstetrician-gynaecologist from the University of Oulu in 1991. I became interested in studying and treating infertility already in the early stages of my specialist training at the North Karelia Central Hospital, and after I completed my specialist training, I returned there and started focusing on treating infertility. At that time, a laboratory that could be used for IVF and soon also ICSI treatments was set up at the central hospital, and I was able to be part of developing effective fertility treatments from the very beginning.

From North Karelia, I moved on to a private IVF clinic in Tampere because I wanted to be able to focus more on working as a fertility doctor. Before starting to work at Felicitas Mehiläinen, I have worked in the private sector all the time as a clinical fertility doctor, and I have also held various development and management positions related to the operations of fertility clinics.

I am an expert with extensive experience, and I listen to patients very carefully. I examine and treat all kinds of patients who have fertility problems and are interested in their fertility. My wish is that anyone who wishes to have a child could become a happy parent.
